Two Sunday's ago I was bored and started waxing the hood of my 70 F350. It turned out pretty nice. That week I washed the truck and waxed the rest of the truck. It looked pretty nice, so I decided I would take it to the local car show the Sunday after July 4th.
I pressured washed the headboard and bed and the next day painted them both. The headboard got a beige color ( actually had painted the headboard beige last fall with some old paint I had but it started flaking after a couple of weeks... I checked the paint can and saw it was interior paint!) and the bed was painted black to help hide dirt after hauling mulch.
here are some pics.. not bad for a 1970 work truck:

What do you think? Not bad for an old dump truck, huh?
It's amazing what a lil elbow grease and detailing will do. I'm sure the folks at the show were somewhat amazed to see the old girl still on the road and doing her thing.
i like the "radio dispatched" on the hood, any history on that?

Abe. Man that truck looks awesome. Good Job. I am originally from Ohio so I understand the "rust belt". Good job keeping him that solid. I even enjoyed the PA background images. I gotta ask, no black Eagle above the House's front door?

That's a neat way to honor your Grandfather, Brady. You even have the old style phone number!
I bought the truck last September. All I know is that the PO bought it from a boy scout camp and he used it in his landscape business. I imagine before the boy scout camp had it it must have been used by a delivery or construction business. The doors have been repainted and I imagine the door had some lettering on it, too. I think it is pretty cool too.

Thanks, Jeffafa. An eagle above the front door??? Hmmm. Do you mean above the dark green fancy embellishment? Black would go well with the wrought iron railing wouldn't it?
Yep! As of 1979 when I moved from Toledo to here in Phoenix practically everybody had an Eagle above their front door or garage. I suppose back east isn't as "Colonial" as it used to be. I just couldn't help kidding you about it! LOL!
Its funny, I have been using this truck for my mowing business all summer. Last week two of my clients commented on my nice old truck and how nice it looked...
