i remember labeling them, grouping them, and lining them all up in single file before they were inspected, cleaned, inspected again, and up on the aseembly line to be re-assembled.
That's what I was thinking, thanks. I left the bolts in the elbow and that one was missing, so I was wondering if it went in there.
I did start to label everything after I got in a bit further, but instead of hte job taking a few days it's taken a few weeks so I'm not as familiar with the first steps as I'd like to be.

Don't feel bad Jay. As many times as I've done some of this stuff I still forget where the bolts go, even if it's only been a few minutes. I asked Granny if we had a camera that worked anymore so that I could take LOTS of pictures of my up coming motor swap, and if it wasn't for all the great folks here I'd be in REAL trouble getting things done.
There's that heat shield! On hte left side by where hte egr cooler used to be. It's held on by intake studs. I really don't want to take them off and re-torque them...

I haven't had that on for years and never had an issue EVER. I didn't even know there was one, in fact.
That heat shield is not all that important, but it can be installed pretty easily. It is held on by 2 10mm nuts on top of the studs, not the intake studs.
