Extra bolt...

I have an extra bolt that is the same size as the ones that hold the turbo pedistool to the engine valley. It was with them, so it has to be the same vicinity, but I can't seem to figure out exactly where. Any ideas?

How about a heat shield about 8" long and 3" wide with 2 bolt holes, and a bend in it?

Two small bolts and curved? How about on the turbo itself?

Assuming you have a 2004 engine, there is a heat shield that is secured by two nuts fastened to two of the intake manifold studs on the passenger side runner. To describe it in better detail, a 2004 engine uses three studs to secure the intake to the passenger side cylinder head. One in front of, and one behind the MAP sensor hose brass nipple. The third stud will go into the second last hole toward the firewall (the very last one cannot be accessed without moving the downpipe out of the way). That shield you describe, sounds like it secures over top of the passenger side of the intake manifold using the second last stud and the one stud behind the MAP sensor hose brass nipple. For clarity, later 2005 and newer engines don't use this shield, and therefore only uses two studs on the passenger side intake runner while the rest are bolts. Sorry if my babbling fails to make sense.

Are there two bolt holes or three (two small and one larger diameter hole)? If it's three, there is a heat shield that secures to the rear of the HPOP cover and the rear of the driver side cylinder head.

8"x3" with 2 bolt holes would have to be the one that bolts on the intake. The one on the hpop cover is a little bigger.

On page 20 of this PDF shows the location of the heat shield I believe Mchan was in reference to, https://www.ford-trucks.com/ford-man...ble%20Book.pdf it shows a heat shield on the passenger side rear of the intake manifold.

Thanks for hte help. What I could really use is a good high resolution picture of the top of the engine looking down. Any one willing to snap one for me?

Are you looking for wiring harness routing? My phone camera doesn't work or I'd be more than happy to send you one of my 04. If I can help describe it to you in any way I will.

Wiring harness, and general orientation of things. I don't know hte engine like the back of my hand like i should. I've got a couple pigtails still disconnected that I need to put on and a few bolts that I'm not familiar with, but it's not all together yet either. I still have that long bolt that looks like a stud for the intake, but about a half inch short. Someone said EGR cooler mounting bolt but when I looked at it, that wasn't it.

It's longer than the studs that connect tot he egr cooler, but shorter than the studs that connect hte intake manifold.

If it has a 10mm head, it goes in one of the holes on the intake elbow at the front of the intake. The other 3 bolts are a lot shorter.
