Coolant Change

Well right now I'm preparing to drain/flush and refill my coolant, right now I'm still in the military and was able to get a couple cans of coolant, especially since I work some maintance for the military. I know usually everyone recommends Ford coolant or the NAPA coolant. Well what does everyone think about the coolant we use in the military for the 6.0?

Go gold. the amount of problems you can get from wrong coolant will be extremely expensive and a giant headache.

Is that coolant from 2001?

Peak Final-Charge is the one.

Or Rotella ELC/Ultra ELC or CAT.

Just make sure it is CAT EC-1 rated coolant is the main point.

It's from PEAK, and is low silicate similar to the Ford Gold except it doesn't appear to be a HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) and requires SCA supplement every 18 months. Those solids will clog your oil cooler. The Final Charge from these folks is good, it's a silicate free formula with a CAT EC-1 rating.
Probably work fine in heavy equipment but I agree NOT for a 6.0. Your motor pool guy is messin up.

Just make sure you get the extended life EC-1 rated as already suggested by others here. I am running the Zerex red stuff from NAPA.
