Ok I know I've powered about this before but have a couple more things to add
The overdrive light is now flashing. Sometimes it shifts hard. And when I push the gas pedal all it does is rev up and not go faster. Please help me!!
Get the codes and we'll see from there, but it could be the torque converter. Don't run the truck like that until you figure out the cause, you risk hurting the trans when it could be a simple fix.
If the o/d is flashing it is normally triggers if your PSOM signal is disrupted putting the transmission in limp mode which increases pressures and shift hardness. The PSOM feeds signal to CPU to that sends signal to shift solenoid, which sometimes I have seen cause the transmission to rev because it doesn't know to shift gears because of the faulty signal. I would start by checking out your PSOM behind the speedometer and the VSS. I have also heard that some have corrected the blinking O/D simply by replacing a blown fuse #8 in the fuse panel. I have known some to have success by just cleaning the ball on the VSS and not replacing, especially if you have a jump speedo.
I have a similar problem but my overdrive button has no power to it due to changing the cab and not being able to find a diagram on the wiring from the column to the main fuse panel but it does the same exact thing usually form first to second gear it sounds like my transmission is going to end up in my lap
Does anybody have any clue to where the three wired plug with the green , white with purple stripe, and black plug hooks up to under the column. I would appreciate the info
I have a 1999 van that has a similar setup with the steering column and the o/d button works fine but on my 94 one ton it just plain don't have any power at all now take in mind the cab was a diesel I just changed all the wiring from diesel to gas and everything works on the truck electrical but the o/d button and I know there is one plug under the column that is not plugged in so my question is are the diesel columns the same as the gas
Is there a round switch up under column about mid column a three wired plug goes in or are the deisel columns not equipped with one cause my van is gas. And it has the same plug
