Extra overhead console help
I noticed a few weeks ago my overhead console had stopped working, so today i finally found the thread on how to remove and repair it. Have it all apart on the table, and the resistors werent out of place, but they are detached from the side closest to the screen. Not great at soldering, but this seems like it needs to be so precise not exactly comfortable doing this. Im not a circuit board/small electronics person, but it appears something is also wrong on the upper left corner of the screen, and the back of where the resistors mount seems to kind of be burnt? Do i need a whole new circuit board?

The burnt spot you see in the display tube is called the Getter.

They activate it after assembly after there is a vacuum and they fill
with the required mix of gas. The getter is there to remove impurities
and it very normal.

the resistors mounted close to the circuit board (as Ford did it), carry more current than the OEM solder job can handle.. they heat up and usually fall loose, also some diodes were doing that.. they should have been mounted original with air space between the body and the circuit board, or standing on end.. I bought new resistors and stood them up for cooling.. haven't had a problem since and its been 4 years now.. my next quest on this overhead console is to find the lead that senses lights on and dims the display.. I'll tape it off so my display stays bright when my daylights are on.. I cannot see the display in the daylight unless I turn the lights off..
