Hello,
I have a 2003 F250 Super Duty 5.4 crew cab
Cruise light comes on when engaged but does not work. I did some research on why its not working checked wiring at the throttle body it seemed ok, Fuse is ok. Also did the self test and everything passed with just one flash but cruise still does not work. I read about many problems with the brake pressure switch but would it pass the self test if that pressure switch was bad? Also what should a switch cost. Local dealer wanted $125.00 for a new one and I have read where they cost around $15.00 - $20.00
Sorry to beat a dead horse but I cant find online anywhere where it passed the self test and didn't work. Thanks for your help!
That's what I figured, but while driving I hit the on button and set the speed and the light comes on but it will not take over the throttle. It just drops off in speed???
Not sure but does that one have a servo to move the throttle?
If so I would be looking at that. Your going to need the pinpoint
test sheet and a brake down of the wiring pin outs to check things.
When coming to a stop probably under 10 mph the abs engages both front wheels. any other time under braking its fine. I read the sensors can go bad or need to clean the connectors possibly. I don't have any dash lights on for anything indicating problems with any system.
You need to perform a ohms-volt test as listed in manual, mine passed both tests except it said to check harness splice, checked at splice and ok,turned out to be defective unit did not swap out cicuit assembly to isolate if it was electronics or servo, just replaced whole unit.

Ok then there's my next step. I will try that ...what did that unit cost?
If the ABS is activating at low speeds when it should not be and the cruse is
acting up. It may be a good idea to check the wheel speed sensors and the
reluctor ring to see if it damaged or full of grease or debris in the teeth.
Here is a crankshaft ring the ABS only has one sensor but other wise it the same.
If your doing the grease injection like some are thins is one of the things that can happen.

Thanks Sean great visual!! Ill start with wheel speed sensors and go from there!
As car as cruise operation is concerned, the ABS symptom is unrelated.
If the self-diagnostic, including the throttle goose passed, but the unit doesn't engage at speed, then there is likely a problem with the servo power/ground connections, the servo cable or the servo module itself.
