Exactly. Once the gold gels up, I don't see any way to get it all out without replacing the coolers. More and more I don't like the idea of mixing 2 different coolants if you can't get one completely out. If you attempt to use VC-9 and it starts to move a lot of stuff around, I think your headed to a plugged cooler anyway. I think I'd rather be knee deep in water from flushing the thing all day long than try to do it a quicker way. Right now my temps are fairly good so I'm still thinking and searching for a place to get this done.

I've read about VC-9, the good and bad, worries me a bit. My temps are pretty good right now but kinda weird. At 70 degrees outside the delta can be as high as 10 degrees. At 95 outside the delta can be as low as 3 or 4 degrees but the temps are above 200. like 204/207. I've seen 197/207 even. I'm wondering if these are good enough to just do a lot of flushing or should I really consider the VC-9?

Well......by gel I mean goo, not the hard deposits that form inside the oil cooler fins. I mean snotty goo. I don't know if it takes a chemical flush to remove that junk and I certainly don't advocate a chemical flush UNLESS you have a temp problem and plan on changing your oil cooler. I wonder if a simple green flush like what is used to clean up after an oil cooler rupture would remove the goo without cutting a bunch of rust/scale/deposits loose inside the cooling system.....

Flush, fill, and stop the worrying!

Your temps are fine. Normal! Just flushing it will get you a ton of sand cast out of the system and it will be good to go!

I honestly don' see anything wrong with your temps. I don't even consider them high. Pretty normal actually

The "Restore" cleaner is for cleaning out the gelled coolant. The "Restore Plus" is for the rust and scale (like VC9) and is a pretty harsh cleaner.

As stated by others above, I also would try a water flush first since you have pretty good temperature values.

I worry about everything, haven't figured out how not to. Explains the gray hair.

Like you said, flush and fill. That's what we're going to do.
