I installed HID's in my Hella 500's, and I have been having a strange issue where only one light will come on. At first it was the right, and now it's the left, but only one works at a time. I have confirmed that both are functional by directly connecting them to the battery, but when connected to the Hella wiring the problem happens. Could it be that both lights are grounded on the same wire? I appreciate any ideas. Thanks!
Some of the plugs I have seen on the install kits are more than a bit
questionable. Hella has a good rep so that SHOULD not be the problem
but you still need to verify that it's not. I had to replace a plug on my install kit
because it was loose and I would get some flicker or not coming on.
I checked my truck and they are grounded separetly I don't know what brand they are since they came like that on the truck when I bought it. Is there a way that you can ground the separate? If so try, that might be the problem. But again I'm no expert
The ballast I have used only had the two wires one + and the other ground.
If you can identify the wires it should not be a problem to separate the grounds.
I am in the process of replacing the plugs on mine with a better one that has
a heavier contacts and lead wire.
