Speedometer
I have a 2002 F350 v10. I have 101,000 miles on it. When the Speedometer hit 15mph it starts to climb Rapidly to a 100mph then it stops and goes to 0. My miles go blank and when I slow down to around 5mph it comes back. Any ideas? I do know that I have a bad clock-spring and am changing that this weekend.
Thanks
Traves.

The B1932 in my book for the 06 year is "driver side airbag circuit open"
Bad clock spring you say? That may be the reason
The C1226 I cant' find but it should be a chassis circuit.

It is either the speedometer itself or the VSS sensor.

If you have access to a good scanner you should be able to
see if there are any codes. The Autozone scanner won't do it.
The AE or a Snap-On or one of that level will give you the info.

I have done a diagnostic test with a snap on tester. Codes that came up are. B1932, C1226 & P1000. Can't find out what they are..
Thanks

Anyone have a part number for the vss?
My speedo acts funky as well. Not sure if it's the input to inst. cluster or the actual speedo on cluster

The P1000 is a indication that the self testing cycle has not been finished. Battery power
was removed and that will cause it.

i remember when my vss went out. One of the first times I ever looked to FTE. I was a bit scared, truck speedo was jumping, and truck was running like $###. I thought something major was up. Turned out a simple cheap fix.
Thanks again FTE!! Hope this is the case here. Although I do remember having driveability issues when mine went out as well.
Good luck!

Okay I changed the sensor on the back of the rear end. That did not help. I have changed the VSS that mounts to transmission. That did not help. I have changed out my clock spring. That did not help. I have had my cluster rebuilt. That did not help. I also hooked it up to a scanner ( Snap-On) and took the truck on a drive again. The scanner is reading my speed and is right on with my GPS that I use to tell me how fast I am driving. I just want help or any idea that it could be... I am very frustrated at this point.. Truck is running fine no misses or any other problems at this time..
I have a 2002 F350 v10. I have 101,000 miles on it. When the Speedometer hit 15mph it starts to climb Rapidly to a 100mph then it stops and goes to 0.
