Do both doors lock when the switch from either door is pressed for Lock? Do you have remote keyless entry, and if so, does both Lock and Unlock work from the keyless fob? Do you have a test light or multimeter, and are you comfortable removing the door panel and taking some measurements?

Okay, with the door panel off and the multimeter, you should be able to check for voltage to the door lock motor. If there's voltage there, the issue is the lock. Not likely since neither side unlocks. If there's no voltage at the motor, then start working your way back to the switch. If there's voltage in to the switch but not out from the switch, the switch is the issue. If there's no voltage to the switch, then you need to work your way back to the fuse, etc. You also need to ensure you have a good ground to the switch as well.

Replaced Actuator still not the problem. I have power and ground at the actuator and the switch. What am I missing?

The solenoids work by reversing the polarity. You mention you have power and ground at the actuator. When the lock/unlock switch is not being pressed, both wires to the solenoid should be at ground potential. When you press lock, one wire should have battery voltage. When you press unlock, the other wire should have battery voltage. Is that the way it functions? If not, disconnect the lock solenoid and check the function at the output of the switch. Does it work correctly now?

Would the wiring diagrams help you? If so, I could provide them.

Yes wiring diagrams would help, I do not think polarity is changing.

If you send me a Private Message with the request and an e-mail address for you, I'll send you PDFs of the power lock diagrams from the factory service manual.

Driver door power lock won't unlock

I have power to the driver door power lock switch and locking works fine. I tested the wiring using the switch from the passenger door, which normally works well, it did not work on the driver side. Everythings works well using the remote. am I missing some obvious element?
I would be very grateful for any assistance.

Help us understand exactly your issue. From the driver's door lock switch do all doors both lock and unlock, or only lock? From the passenger door lock switch does it lock and unlock all doors except the driver's door? Does the passenger switch lock or unlock the driver's door, or just cause nothing to function on the driver's door?

What year is your Explorer?
