Stupid question..
What year did the grill change on the 87-96 era ford?
The old ones have a more square light when do they have the more modern grill?
Just sold my mint 79 ford pickup and looking to get into one of these.

I was told you need the entire front clip, and I believe it. I am wanting to do the same swap on my '87.

87 to 91, then 92 to 97.
but 83 to 97 front end swap is pretty much a bolt on deal.
the bumper mounts are different, but nothing a drill bit can't fix.
to switch from one nose to the next you need everything, including radiator support.

I'd like to just find a 96/97 but they are hard to come by and can be a little on the pricey side. Wondering what year diesel is the best as well?
And how many k's or miles they pack er in with most common issues as well??

nope, 97 and 98 F350 still had the old body front end.
99 was the first year of the superduty body.
