dp infinity fuel pressure set up.

Hooking up the FP sender and have some wiring questions.

I got this info from Justin but need some clarification now that I received my actual sender unit.

From Justin-
"Yes, the fuel pressure sender would have to be wired to the serial cable. Most fuel pressure sensors come with a pigtail that has three wires running off of it(at least the Autometer fuel pressure sensor does). Just extend these wires to the serial cable.
The wires you will be using are white(0-5v input/analog input 2), pink(5v output), and shield(covered by black colored heat shrink)."

My FP sender. I have red (positive) - black (negative) and green (output)

Would I go red/white - black/black - green/pink?

Will I fry anything if I hook it up like this and it's wrong?

info from dashdaq

1. Red: Vehicle Power. If OBD2 is powering DashDAQ then leave this unconnected or else you'd create a short circuit! But if you have a standalone non-OBD2 ecm this is a great place to power the DashDAQ.
2. Orange: Serial Port 1 RX
3. Yellow: Serial Port 2 TX
4. Blue: Serial Port 2 RX
5. Brown: Serial Port 1 TX
6. Black: Cable shielding. Do not use this as a ground.
7. White: Analog Input 2
8. Pink: 5V @ 500mA Output
9. Green: Analog Input 1
10. Shield: Signal ground. Use this as your ground for +12v, analog, and serial.

Has anyone installed one of these yet? I was hoping to get it done before the work week.
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. You need to convert it a bit.
  • Pink "5V output" is power out to the sensor, Red is power IN to the sensor - so Pink/Red.
  • White "0-5V analog INPUT" to the Infinity comes from the Green "Output", so Green/White.
  • Ground/Shield is common, so Black/Black/Shield.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I couldn't get it to work so I have been in denial all day. Figured i'd give it another shot when I got back home. No worky though.
I plugged in the EGT to make sure at least the black box thingy the wires are going to worked. That's all good at least.
I assume the correct pid to use is the fuel pressure (gauge) pid. Once on the infinity screen it reads as FRP though. Assuming that means fuel rail pressure.

I cheaped out and tried a knock off sender. It being a knock off of the autometer I figured I would make myself a guinea pig and try it out. I'm not even positive that
*it's the right sender
*it works
*I have it hooked up properly.

Looks like i will have to wait for DP to open the doors for the week. Hopefully they will start making more tech articles for this stuff pretty soon. Someone there made a vid for the egt info but didnt say where to find the egt pid. Turns out it's on an entirely different screen then every other pid.

I say this stuff not to bitch. But as a helpful plea to get some concise articles written on how to use this. The articles would have to be easier then fielding phone calls and emails for the same stuff.? I guess that comes with owning this new tool. We're still kinda in the beta phase. Again, not trying to gripe. Just make every ones life easier.

PS here's the sender I maybe wasted my money on. haha

Mike,

Be sure to follow the instructions I gave you through e-mail and you should be good to go. You will not be able to monitor fuel pressure through the Ford enhanced/specific list. You will have to scroll over to the analog input for the sensor.

As I have stated, we have only tested with the Autometer pressure sensor so I am not sure how the results will be with yours. If it works, great!

Feel free to keep e-mailing me if you need anymore help.
