It's clutch time for me. Want to go solid mass. Been looking at the LUK LFW140 flywheel and the 07131 clutch kit. Can get the whole setup for 280$ before shipping. What do you guys think? Just looking for advice and suggestions. Not planning on pulling really heavy loads or street racing, but am planning on doing some to my motor. It says to replace the master and the slave cylinder. What's up about that?
I just put a Luk kit in from NAPA. 12" upgrade. Already have SMF. And although it's 100 times better than my oil soaked wore out on 1 side old one, I was not impressed with out of box appearance. Made in China. Performance is fine. Haven't towed anything, but it just feels like a "car" clutch. I would look into South Bend, or others. Nows a good time to do the rear main also. Your year may have the upgraded double lip teflon seal allready, so you may not need one. Diddn't replace the slave cyl. though, so maybe that would improve performance.

I did a Luk kit last year, and that price sounds about right, mine was from ebay.
Pedal felt a lot better, and its been working fine, towing included.
It probably says to replace the master and slave so you buy more of their parts. If they are working fine, I wouldn't bother. Might be a good time to flush some clean fluid through. (just becareful not to run it empty, these are a pain to bleed!)

Replaced the master already. I found a trick to bleeding it. Just open the bleeder and kick the slave cylinder down at an angle then wait a few. Worked great for me. My pedals way down and getting noises from it now. Afraid my flywheel might be fixing to come apart.
What lead you to arrive at that choice? Just curious. I'm as clueless as the next guy except I know some are considerably more expensive than others, presumably commensurate with quality...
Guess it all depends on what you want. I'm only planning on a moderate build for now. 250 hp or so. Biggest things I pull are firewood and around 6,000 lb 5 th wheel camper. Not going to be racing either. That Valaint is impressive, but overkill for me.
