Winter tires

I know its summer time but just scored a second set of stock rims for the X. The 8 hole aluminum ones. I've alwaysed liked those. Anyway What snow tires are you guys running. I currently have BF Goodrich T/A 285-75 E. They are on there last season so was gonna put a set of snows on the new rims and get another set of BF Goodrich TA in the spring. Have had limited luck in finding a Snow tire in that size. For you Northern folk any input will help. Thanks

You looking for LTs rated for winter? I don't think you're gonna find any real Blizzak or Ultragrip style winter tire in E...

I run 265's and find them every where.

I was gonna go to 285's when I need to change the winters in another year or so, so this is good info to know. Might be too hard to find hat size.

When you go above 265 the price goes up and the availability goes down...............rapidly.

We won a set from greendiamondtire.com for my wife's Escape! They were excellent winter tires, incredible in ice & snow.

i personally have only run Cooper M+S studded in 265/75 16 on my excursion's. but on my other trucks i run Bridgestone Blizzak studdless and Firestone Winterforce studded. all are GREAT snow tires and i would not attempt our winter roads without good, soft, heavily siped tires, studs are a plus. our roads are a sheet of ice almost all winter, we don't salt and and they lay down alittle gravel at intersections. good snow tires are a must!

I wanted to keep them the same size as the regular tires I run the other 3 seasons. I run a custom tune and I think the tire size has something to do with it. I'm fine with the firestone winterforce just wondering if any of you have used them. I didnt think the price was bad.
