I run a 35x12.50x20 Toyo MT but would like to find a good studded snow tire to run during the winter on the stock 18" rims. I tow a 26' enclosed snowmobile trailer

Reason: spelling
I use Cooper Discoverer S/T 255/85-16 (33+") with studs as my winter tires. I mounted them on the cheap 6.5" painted steel rims. I didn't want to use the aluminum wheels in the salt we have here, and mar them. I figure if the steels start to look too ugly, a bit of elbow grease and new paint will make them look better.
As far as what you need to fit the 18" rim, I have no idea.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but... You have a better chance of being struck by lighting than finding that tire. In a year or two they should be available. The good news is that there are several in 16" size that will work great, you just need to get the rims. The Cooper mentioned by betaracer is a good one, Avon Mud Terran SXT is decent and there are other studdable tires. Also, Bridgestone has a studdless Blizzak that is a good option.
If you are determined to use the 18" rims, have your OE tires siped- That should help but won't be anything like a true winter tire.
Just don't try to drive into Ontario with them on the truck as they are banned there.
Also, I notice you are in Oregon; I found the following:
Oregon: Two-year studded tire permit fee cost from $1 - $40 - Based on County of residence. Class D Traffic Infraction of no more than $75 if ticketed for use of studded tires with no permit.
A little piece of trivial fact: Ironically, *HAWAII* felt it was necessary to ban studded tires altogether......
Utahtom 16" wheels won't fit on my truck, the smallest rim that will fit is 17" and that looks very tight. I had the SXT on my last truck and liked them. Last winter when I got my truck I did have the stock tires siped and drilled for studs, beings it was such a mild winter in our area I only went sledding 3 times. They worked ok but I would like a more aggresive and larger tire. Pikachu is that Ontario oregon or Canada? I might have to go another route thanks for the input.
I was wondering whether or not the 16's would fit. I really do believe the tire manufacturers will make the 17 & 18 inch aggressive tires in the near future. Perhaps there should be an e-mail campaign asking the tire co's why aggressive tires aren't available in 17's & 18's...
They chew up the pavement. Think of 50 or so metal spikes per tire digging into asphalt. Its a way for local/regional/federal governments to save money on road repair and let insurance companies pay out for accidents.
