Hello everyone, I recently bought a pair of cab corner patch panels from Mac's Auto Parts in NY. When I inspected the patches I received. They are really nothing like the picture. I had the understanding that the patch went inside the door jam, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It doesn't even match the stock door jam at all, its just a 90 degree bend, instead of a step in like the truck has. I'm not even sure I want to attempt to used them. When I contacted Macs their response was. yes they depicted the part incorrectly and that what I have is what they sell. This really wouldn't be a problem it I didn't also need to replace the inside of the door jams. So my question is, do I send them back maybe buy from another source, buy the inside door jam pieces (which i'm not sure they sell) or just build it all on my own. keep in mind my door jam is incredibly rotten. What I really want is a patch panel that includes the door jam.
Since they have a picture of it that is wrong and really doesn't fit (which they admitted), I would call them and have them take it back on their nickel. Then call EMS and ask them if the part looks exactly like the picture.
Thanks guys, I will be returning the panels, on their dime. I spent the whole day on this issue. I talked to every parts dealer, I could contact. I came to the conclusion that I needed to move to junkyards. With a lot of calling and asking for referrals each time. I found an entire cab for Cheap. they will email me pictures soon.
The patch that you've posted from ems is what macs sells just repackaged :/ I spoke with them this morning they too are no longer selling the cab corner with the jamb included.
There's an FTE member, Reamer, that used to make his own and sell them to other members. I never bought from him but the guys who did said he did a really nice job, better than the professional vendors. If all you need is cab corners you can try contacting him. He hasn't been on in a long time. He last visited FTE about 3 months ago.
Reamer does make nice corners, but they don't have any jamb on them either, so they won't be any more helpful than the parts you have now that you don't want.
Hey Adamm,
I just noticed you have a 1950 like we do. We also had a need for both interior & exterior cab corners as well as a door jam, door sill, etc.
There is a member on here "Reamer" up in Connecticut who makes the required patch panels for the '48 - '52 trucks. We tried LMC & several others first then gave "Reamer" a call - he does nice work & has the angles down.
I'd send him a PM - he's a good guy & easy to deal with - plus his patches work. (He made several special pieces for us as well as the cab corners).

If it is not what you want send it back. I had a similar problem with the front cab corners from Dennis Carpenter. One of their suppliers wasn't maintaining his dies and the new parts in no way could match up to the old parts. They were nice and took the parts back and refunded my money. I then found out that NPD and several other major suppliers buy their parts from Northern Classic Truck not far from me in Sterling Heights, Michigan located among several OEM final assembly plants. Their parts were a good fit. They also made a hard to get battery box for me. I don't see the rear corners listed for your 1950 but you might call them. Sometimes their website doesn't match their capabilities.
