Looking to swap m y 1990 f250s 351w for a 94 351w . Planning on just pulling the 94 and putting it straight into the 90`. Will everything bolt up correctly or what parts will need to be reused from the 1990. Any suggestions?
You're fairly new still, and ill urge you to continue reading as much as you can of this forum...
The search feature works fairly well 80% of the time.
You will use zero wiring from the donor truck. All the wiring from your current truck will work on the new engine. You'll need to only swap distributors if the 94 one has the tfi module on the fender.
The engine themselves are identical. The wiring between the two years is very different.
If the trans are different, just swap the old flywheel/flexplate onto the 94.
Ok thanks. both trucks have the automatic c6 trans, and we did find the tfi on the fender. couldn't we just put the tfi module onto the 1990's fender?
And also the 94' has a roller motor and the 90' doesn't so i heard the distributor will not work unless i put the 94's distributor gear on to the 1990's distributor.
Correct...
The gear from he 94 needs to go onto the 90 distributor.
The tfi can be relocated to the fender with some wire harness alteration.
Its easier to just keep all the 90 stuff and just swap the gear.
