Hello guys i amin the middle of doing a engine swap in my 1990 f250, 351w. We bought a 1994 f250 for the 351w it ad and we have both motors pulled from both trucks. Now i am in the process of preparing the '94 351w to go into the 1990. I need to know the steps of swapping the wiring harness from the '90 351 over to the '94. I also need to know about swapping distributors. Thank you guys for help!!
To swap wiring you're gonna have to remove the upper intake portion on both motors, but there is another thing to deal with as well, the IAT(intake air temp) sensor. On your '90 it's in the lower intake but on the '94 it was on the airbox, so you either need to drill and tap the '94 lower intake for it or swap lower portions. Then you have to remove the steel gear from the '94 distributor and install it on the '90 distributor, the '94 has a steel roller cam in it and the cast iron gear from the '90 will get chewed up in a hurry if it's not replaced.

So do you think i would be better off Tearing the engine down to a long block and swapping all of the '90s componets onto it and then just having to change the dizzy gear?
