This is just some FYI in case anyone is having the same issue. I have had an aggrevating front end rattle for over two years that I have not been able to find. It has nearly driven me koo koo. I have searched and seached. It seemed to in an area nearly under my feet while driving. I have tightened and retightened checked and rechecked everything you can imagine on the front end and even changed parts that were probably not needed, but failed to stop the rattle. Yesterday I was under my changing my oil and a grabbed onto my sway bar to pull myself under my truck. When I grabbed the sway bar I felt felt a tiny bit of up and down slack so I shook it vigorously and vavoom there was the rattle found by accident. $12 bucks and 10 minutes to change. Rattle gone. It was the round bushings on the front axle that the sway bar goes thru. I was so happy that I had to celebrate!
I have a friend of mine who shall remain nameless that chased an under foot rattle/thump for months. He replaced quite a few items in the front end and was to the point of putting underbody mikes on the truck (was at the dealer getting them installed) when he got in the truck in sort of an odd way and a REAR swaybar bushing popped. Tightened it up and his pop was gone. He would have sworn in court that it was from the front end.
Well I was so happy to find and felt like an idiot at the same time. I spent hours and hours and cases and cases of beer just laying under my truck staring hoping that the rattle make would just appear to me one day.

Sounds like a great afternoon to me!
Would not mind spending more time like this either...
All joking aside, it can be a real PITA finding those little rattles and clunks. My bedcover just about drives me nuts sometimes
