A while back I posted about a front end "clunk" on my '03 F250. Got many different responses. I took it to the dealership twice to no avail. Was told everything was OK on the front end and not to worry about it. But it just drove me nuts! Finally I decided I was gonna figure this out myself. I had a buddy of mine rock the front end while I was underneath listening. I was surprised at my findings. It was the stabilizer bushings! Twenty dollars and 15 minutes of my time later, problem solved! Kinda ticks me off that the dealer mechanic didn't find this, it was so easy.
I notice a clunk on occasion when I brake. It sounds/feels like its coming from under my left foot when I brake. Is this the clunk that you guys are talking about? It just started, but it's driving me nuts.
Wow, if you are talking about the sway bar links that attach to the bar and frame, consider this, the dealer told me he doesn't sell replacement bushings for the 2000 model. You have to buy the whole end link. I am considering purchasing the energy suspension poly bushing kit for it. It's quite a bit cheaper and so far everyone says positive things about them.
Dave, it sounds like he is talking about the bushing that wrap around the swaybar itself where it is mounte to the axle. The do sell them at the dealer. I have also replaced mine. I went with OEM there and polys on the drop links.
