well drive it and it will break.. lost the drivers side pump yesterday ..looking at replacements ..they talk about the poor design from ford and the improvements ..iron from 88 bucks or the aluminium for 250 from Edlebrock ..has anyone used the fancy edlbrock pumps ?? is it worth the extra money ??or pull one off the spare blocks ??what is your view ?? High buck last longer ?? or stay with iron ?
I found this, I'd prolly just go this way cause $250 seems like a lot to spend on one edelbrock pump. Speedway seems to be a reputable place to buy parts too.
yah I figgered both would be the smart thing to do ..and heater hoses ..new rad cap..anti freeze rad hoses ....crap gotta get on the maintenance too ....Iron it is ..not a show truck ..still working !!!!
NAPA rebuilt has done right by me. Special order tho. There was a huge debate on the Ford Barn about Skip's and Speedway's vs stock. Personal opinion, the alternative pumps make much more difference on the early '30's and '40's engines, especially ones with the pumps on the heads.
I went with Skips pumps, but haven't tried em yet. had the radiator reworked too so I won't be able to tell what if anything improves my cooling. they were my cast cores though and they look fricken great. good luck
