I have a 76 f100, but the motor is from a 71 mustang a 351 cleveland. It has no fan shroud now. How to I know which one to get?
By using deductive reasoning...
The 351C is a cousin of the 351M/400 so that is a consideration.
Then measure the radiator opening of the core support because some are bigger than others depending on OEM configuratons: i.e. SBF vs BBF and cooling packages.
IIRC, the LMC or NPD catalogs have dimensions and specs.
Do you expect us to throw a PN at you??? Ha! You'll need to figure it out yerself.. that's part of the hobby and unfortunately what is needed when engineering blasterdized configurations.
No fan shroud available for F100/350 w/300 I-6 until 1977, and then only with Xtra Cooling or factory installed integral A/C.
You'll have to take measurements to see if this puppy will work:
D3TZ-8146-C (replaced C8TZ-8146-K) .. Fan Shroud / Marked on upper left corner: C8TA-8146-S or D3TA-8146-DA
Reproduced by Carpenter, specs listed in his 1967/79 truck repro parts catalog (page 36, column left in 2011 paper version).
Applications: 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 except with Super Cooling Radiator (that has a larger opening radius).
Note: 1973/79 F100/350 radiator support with round headlamps. Two types, one was only used with Super Cooling Radiator which your 300 I-6 truck wasn't available with.
IMO, fan shroud will fit...as long as the 351C fan blade isn't any larger than 18 1/2" diameter. 'Course, the fan is EZ to change.
My 76 didn't have a fan shroud. I replaced the radiator and fan with one from Autozone and ordered a shroud from JBG (the cheap one) and it fit perfect. Measure your radiator and fan go from there.
