Check with your local Ford Dealer. I bought a new shroud for my 78 a few years ago, seems like it was in the $40.00 range and it was in stock, no special order. I felt the price was fair, though I did miss out on a day at the wrecking yard. Good luck.

I got my shroud from pick and pull, it was I have a 79 bronco 400, the shroud i got was off a 1980 F 150. You need to be careful with the way they mount, as some will mount to the frame, while others will mount dorectly to the rdiator.
Just make sure you know which way it will mount on your truck and your set, mine cost 15 bucks.
I took my 79 F150 4x4 to a machine shop and had the fellows make me one. Cost me a total of $55 and the shroud is made of fairly heavy sheet metal. Works just as well as the one I tried to order from LMC. The only problem is that LMC had it on back order forever. So did my Ford dealership.

I am fairly sure that a fan shroud from a car won't work since cars have side tanks and trucks have top and bottom tanks. This makes the difference very extreme not to mention bolt patterns.
