need to replace steering components, which exactly?

Hello friends, Im trying to order all some tie rods for my 2wd 1991 f350 cc 7.3. the outer tie rod ends have a ton of slop in them, but id rather replace everything all at once, so it all ages together. Im confused between these two:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mo...-350/year/1991

and

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mo...-350/year/1991

logic tells me i need the one that fits the crewcab/bent end?

also, do i need 1 or two outer tie rod ends (i believe i only need 1 for the driver side, as that long one already has a tie rod end for the passenger side)

finally, i see theyres some much cheaper options by Mevotech listed here, question-will they hold up to normal/non offroad use for 6 moths?

http://www.summitracing.com/search/m...drivetrain/rwd

i will be going 4wd within 6 months, but the slop is bad enough that I NEED to replace the components for my safety and others.
Any help please?

basically looking to replace all of this. from my understadning I need 3 individual parts, or is the yellow pitman arm 2 individual pieces?

That yellow part is 3 separate pieces, but you should be able to re-use your adjusting sleeve and bolts.

Eyeball your existing parts to aid in identifying the proper replacement parts.

You will need to buy 4 pieces, two tie rods and two outer ends. Unless you specifically buy them, you will reuse your adjusting sleeves.

Before you replace any part, check the bolts that fasten the Steering Box to the frame. When those become loose the steering gets very sloppy.

steerg box is fine, thanks for the input though. its the outer joints on the tie rods that are worn out to hell, the top pitman joint is not bad (connecting to steering box arm), but can i replace the bushing where the pitman arm connects to passenger tie rod?

question about passenger side tie rod: the moog components list a bent and stright version, where the bent version pertains to ambulance and crew cabs.

Do i require the bent version for sure? im away from my truck for the next week so i cant check.

Just to correct your terminology, the pitman arm comes off your steering box to your inner tie rod. the yellow piece is either a inner tie rod or draglink depending on who you talk to.

Also I just did this on my 250 4x4.

you can reuse the adjusting sleeves, and take a tape measure and measure point to point on the old ones before you break them down and try to get the new ones close to it it will make the drive to the alignment shop easier

my main question is, which passenger tie rod do i need for my 2wd crew cab. its not a cab n chassis so i believe its UP TO 4200 lb front axle weight,
but on summitss website, for the moog passenger tie rods, the one for 79 says it a straight tie rod design, the one for 85 says its bent design, for crew cabs and ambulances.

then for the cheap stuff, it has two part numbers as well, one for 40ish, the other for 70ish, but doesnt say anything.. thats what im confused about

anyone? rock auto has options that say crewcab pickup;ambulancepackage;over4200lb.

i have just a regular crewcab, i dont think ambulances were ever crew cabs, so im assuming crew cab has over 4200 lb axle rating, so the part works for a crew cab AND/OR an ambulance?

hmm, doesnt say anything anywhere about drag link...some of the pictures i see are the part i need, but theyre called an inner right tie rod, which i have there for 8.97. seems like its it at 33", but i dont know if its reffering to the drag link or steering arm, which connects to the pitman arm.

WHat irritates me the most, is left is right, right is left, left is a different left.
passenger side=right
driver=left???
do you refer to the parts looking at front of truck, or sitting in driver seat?

Always as sitting in the drivers seat. I would get the adjusting sleeves also, it will make the job a LOT easier.

ok friends, i found the "center link" which also shows up, at least in pictures in the tie rod section, but I added it anyway, as i dont see how i could get that peice for 8$. i think that 33" peice is the steering link no?
anyway heres my updated list. i apologize for all the spamming, just all very confusing. now this is assuming that all crew cabs have the thicker steering linkage...
