Infinity is cost effective solution when one considers the gauge functionality & ability to load tunes in one package. One disadvantage of the Infinity is I believe there is no capability to switch tunes on the fly, if that's important to you. For most people it's not. After initial novelty wears off, I think most people just stay in one of the Econo tunes for daily driving, occasionally switching to e.g. a towing tune when towing. But one knows about that at the beginning of the drive, so one can plan accordingly.

In my case, my truck came with Boost, EGT & Trans Temp guages already installed by the previous owner, and I prefer analog gauges with a needle, as I find them easier to read. So, given that gauge functionality wasn't as big of an issue for me, I ended up going with the PHP Hydra. Info here: http://www.powerhungryperformance.com/_hydra_chip.shtml. It's worth also checking out the PHP Hydra as an alternative. One advantage of the PHP Hydra is that is comes with free tunes included, if one has a mild/standard setup, which can save quite a bit of money, if one's truck is fairly standard, and one wants a bunch of different stock/mild tunes. Custom tunes, like all other systems/vendors cost extra. I also added a Scangauge II to monitor a few additional parameters.

P.S. The 7.3L trucks, at least the early ones, also don't have the ability to accurately report coolant temp (ECT). The coolant temp reading isn't made available to the ECU, so can't be accurately read from the ECU using PIDs.

Switching on the fly isn't a big problem to me, cause for the most part I will be in gas saving mode!!! But I do want that extra power I tow! I don't really need anything to crazy my truck is not a drag truck! And is my DD. but I also want the gauges to monitor everything so that if something was to go wrong I'm going to know what it is right off hand and not when it's too late! And I really like the fact that it can clear and read trouble codes, as well as preform a buzz test and test the injectors and glow plugs. Seems like a good overall investment! The money part is what what bothers me but I don't want all the pod gauges everywhere! And it seems the infinity can monitor most all the needed gauges, and as far as theft... Can't the screen unattached from the mount?? I could hide it then! Right?
