Tuners VS chips

I’ve only begun to tweek on my 97. The new bed is on and the truck is painted, new wheels and tires, add-a-leafs and velvet rides. The 6637 is installed, cat is gone and a new down pipe is about to go on. Now that it’s looking pretty good I’m in the planning and budgeting stages for a set of pillar gauges and tuner.

Honestly, I do more driving without a load and I like as many mpg's as I can get but when I tow it’s usually something pretty heavy. My biggest irritant is keeping my auto in OD.
I hear a lot about the 16 position F5 by DP Tuner but know nothing about it. I’d like to be able to have it adjustable somewhere on the dash and I’m a bit nervous about buying something that is potentially dangerous to my truck. I know any of them can damage my truck if I don’t monitor my gauges but I don’t want to just throw something in because Billybob says it’s the best. Am I making any sense? I guess I’m looking for something that’s proven.

If you like or dislike what you're using can you tell me why?

Then general consciouses is either DP Tuner Or Tony Wildman. Both have proven to be reliable producers of high quality products. I think that it' a 50-50 split on which one to go with. Everyone has there own opinion.

Give each of them an call. They are both more than willing to spend time talking with you and coming up with the best burns for you and your truck, plus they both stand behind their work.
