hello ever one just joining. I have a small problem with my f350 in the pass I have replaced my fuel filter housing let say three times. Now last week I had a diesel smell and thought I may have another cracked but after removing the filter housing completely out of the truck I couldn't find any problems with the housing but I did find the bottom hose from the filter to the fuel pump kinked and had a pin hole and I figured that were my fuel leak was coming from Great fixed the leak. put everything back together.
I started the truck and was going to town that is when the problem I have now show it ugly face. at this time I came up to a stop sign and slowed down the truck shut down (just like you turn the key off) put her in park and the truck started right up with now problem, now it seam like when the truck is cold it does this. I have checked on line and have talk to a couple of guys about this problem. they are tell me it maybe the cam senor or the heater in the filter house may be the problem HELP
thanks for any info
Welcome to fte. I would try a cam sensor, but get it from ford or IH. Parts store ones are junk for the most part. If your truck starts, your filter heater is either working or unplugged. The reason I say this is the pcm runs on the same fuse as the filter heater, so when there is a problem with the heater, it kills fuse 22 and you get a no start, with no wait to start light present.
I had that same problem once.. coming up to a stop light and she died.
Cranked and fired up.. didnt do it again for a while. Second time it did. I replaced the CPS and ALLLLLL good.
Even if it doesnt end up being your problem its good to have a spare on hand. CPS can cause lots of problems.
