With ScanGauge I have no way to command anything to do anything. It's solely a scan tool. It would be wayyy cool if I could. Benny, I'll check all values again this morning Cold & Hot and post them all at once. I appreciate all the responses given.
Mike
Have you had the EGR out and cleaned looks to me its slow on EVM meaning more throttle response valve not opening only to 27% at 2500 rpm should be open more, lets see what Benny has he's the master on these Scan readings
heres base values for
egrdc=koeo-0 low-0-15 hi-32 operating range 0-44 percent
egr position koeo-0.8 low-0.8-1.0 hi-1.3 operating range 0.6-3.5
I haven't pulled the EGR to clean it yet. I will if the fault points to it being gunked up. Does a clogged EGR valve cause fluky voltage readings too or is it something possibly in the wiring harness?
Mike
Mine threw that code twice so far, turbo was cleaned at 23000 miles I have 35000 now. After installing my program from my sct tuner and running it a bit more I havent had the code come up. I assumed it was sticking...
Ya it would be good to pull and check the EGR Valve clean it going to be the Easiest thing at this Point
my 03 don't get these EGR Valve Gauges so I haven't played with them
His EGR Valve Position at KOEO is Out of Spec is it the problem IDK the rest Looked OK as far as I could tell
EBP Volts seems a Touch High at High Idle it could be from the EGR Valve Stickey or Stickey Turbo
IDK if you can But since it triggers the CEL while towing it may be a Good Idea to check these sensor while in tow But I don't have a Value for driving or towing so a sensor Number would have to be way out to catch but hey you might get Luckey
I couldn't find a decent thread on how to clean the EGR out. I don't want to drown the unit with carb clean 'cause there's holes around the pintle or something to avoid?
I used carb cleaner and a flux brush leave it up right and sprayer down I pulled the inter valve forward and brushed inbetween, the two , look inside the Intake and try to get all the soot broke off and vaccumed. Oh and ware your safety Glasses that stuff burns like
I pulled the EGR valve and it was dry, black and lightly flakey\sooty. Most shook off, but I douched it well with carb cleaner. It only took 1/2 can of cleaner and it then looked like new. The valve was in amazing condition after 20,000 miles since replacement by Ford. A lot has to be said for using Cetane booster. I imagine my turbo is in the same shape. I moved the spring loaded valve upward and sprayed the seats real well and replaced. I took the EGR, EPV and EGV readings again. The COLD readings were identical to before the cleaning, the HOT readings changed as follows;
The problem here IMO is all your pressure gauge readings (MAP,EBP) are Both alittle Higher than normal
so its hard to just condeim just a EBP sensor being Bad
In Fact Im thinking since MAP & EBP are both a Touch High PSI reading that they are OK (Unless the Cold vs Hot readings with EBP are drastically different)
Cleaning a EBP sensor usually only works if EBP reads Low psi yours reads High psi you could try it though
It brings into question VGT Valve and or Stuck turbo
The Hard thing about your case is the CEL only triggers when Towing and we are Not testing under that condition
