no signal lights
Can I use a signal switch for a regular truck, without cruise? I am going to try switching them out.
What "signal lights" are missing? The exterior turn signals? The dash indicators? Both? Does "no lights" mean they're stuck ON or stuck OFF? Does the issue depend on any other factors (signals work with headlights OFF but not when headlights ON, is position of key dependent, etc). Need a lot more information; my crystal ball is in the shop.

I have headlights, and marker lights. I had no turn signals, hazards or brake lights. After some cursing and bleeding knuckles I found one problem. In my fuse panel the wire was broke off that powers the hazard lights.
I checked the fuse panel for power at the turn signal fuse. It has power, but I lose it after it goes into the harness that goes to the steering column. I was thinking maybe it's the switch? A thunderstorm moved in so I had to get dry and finish up tomorrow.
I am wondering what other vehicle I can get a signal switch from.
Mine is a 79 Lariat Cab with cruise, tilt, A/C.
P.O. hacked this harness up real good, I have been chasing and repairing wires for a while.
Thanks..
Bill or Mike would have to chime in as far as applications go. Rock Auto's website lists a turn signal switch with tilt for a '79 for $72.99. It would be a Shee-Mar reproduction. Rock Auto also lists other applications (namely 78/79 E- and F-series) but I would go by the books instead if Bill or Mike chime in. I don't think cruise makes a difference but I welcome any corrections.
