Occasionally while pulling my trailer uphill when I let off throttle I'll get a boost dumping noise, kind of flutters, it clears up when I throttle back up. Hoping to get some ideas if anyone has like issues.
Normal. When you're under load and the turbo needs to vent itself quickly. If you're on a hill towing that would be considered heavy load where the turbo is building a lot of boost pressure. 6.0 uses a VGT turbo that opens and closes the vanes to build/release boost pressure. Not like a normal turbo that uses a waste gate and recirculation/blow off valve to vent pressure.
Mine does it too. I thought I read somewhere that if you have a tuner, command the egr valve off and it will stop. correct me if that is wrong. But how could it be, I read it on the internet, the internet doesn't lie, lol.
I know it's two hours away, when I lived in pueblo I used P town automotive. He had a few ford diesels in there. He fixed my rear main oil leak no problem. 719-766-3148. His name is chris.
