Thanks, the "J" in the tag threw me off because the info in the LMC cataloge indicates a 223 ci engine. But I thought the 223 was discontinued in 1965. Did the "J" change meaning in 1965.
The decoder in the LMC catalog and most sources online are not right...the only accurate source is the Ford Master Parts Catalog which I and a few others on here have...Its an invaluable resource and can be purcghased for approx 21-22 dollars from hipoparts dot com.
[quote=NumberDummy;12529357]Block casting number should read: E0AE-6015- or 6059- followed by a letter suffix. There will be a date code on the block, decoding to the year/day the block was cast, similar to this: 0C7 = March (C) 7, 1980(0).
NumberDummy, I changed the starter today and got the numbers from underneath. They are from my 66 Flareside and the replaced engine.
The hidden numbers are EOAE D3C00 4B20.
I was told at the parts store' it appears to be a 302 from a 1980 bronco however you mentioned (without the numbers) it could be a Windsor. The Manifold is an Edlebrook so I'm still having trouble identifying the engine
Could you or someone confirm from this info what it actually is. Thanks in advance Bill,,
