My truck had a PTO winch installed sometime during its life. I'm thinking that it may have been dealer installed as it looks pretty professional.

At some point the drivetrain for the winch was ripped out. The shafts and hangers were cut. The previous owner told me everything was there to hook it back up, but I don't think that is true. The winch is still on the bumper and these parts were in the bed:

This gear housing appears to be just a reverser. The shaft comes in and goes out the other way at a 1:1 ratio.

This is my transfer case (leaky, I know):

I think I still need the PTO gear housing, which would bolt in where that 6-bolt cover is. I found this on my local Craigslist: chelsea PTO
I understand they are hard to find, so I want to jump on it because it is so near to me. So my questions are:
Is this item the only missing piece for a working PTO winch?
How can I verify that this item will work with my transfer case?
What is a fair price for this item? $300 seems steep
Nice find, the price is a bit steep but not by much, i'd offer $150-200 but be warned it must be the correct gear for YOUR transfer case. There are more than one Chelsea PTO's.
If you don't have the correct one, you will damage your transfer case, do not bolt a PTO onto your transfer case unless you are absolutely sure that it is a correct match for YOUR particular transfer case.
If the model number is intact contact Parker/Chelsea directly and ask for the specs.
