Tom my truck has the same misfire at cold start, its in right now for that and no power after a extended trip on the highway also a check engine light. The truck is a 12 EB not my 06 in the sig.
Looks good towing that trailer too!!!

I read on a thread before that someone found out the truck retards the timing during start-up for some reason which was causing their rough cold stat. They confirmed it with a programmer.
I have the misfire on cold start also,My 2012 4x4 only does it when it is cold I think it is a little lean. After the engine slows down on start it is fine.No problem for the rest of the day.I haven't reported it to Ford.
Got the truck back yesterday late afternoon. Looks like the CAC assembly was replaced and the PCM/TCM were recalibrated.
The truck doesn't misfire in the morning anymore and my harsh 2-3 shift is gone so far the truck is running great again...glad to have it back.
As far as the issue I had after a long trip, I stay mostly local with this truck so it may be a while until I get a good highway run on it to see if the CAC actually fixed that.

I don't like the servicing dealer the company takes the truck too though. Im kind of **** when it comes to my stuff, even though the truck isn't mine, but the tech had grease all over the drivers seat, steering wheel, and driver side door panel.
I own/operate my own repair shop and I would never give a customer their vehicle back in that condition. Its a shame that no one takes pride in what they do anymore, well there is a very limited number of people that do.
I have bought trucks from this dealer as well and the service has always been that way...sloppy. After buying 4 brand new trucks from them, I learned my lesson when it was time to buy my current 06 SD I switched.
Anyway my little rant is over about sloppiness. Thanks for listening.

I totally understand the thoughts of them leaving that in your vehicle. I would not be happy as well! I have been to dealerships that put the paper floor mats in and also put seat covers in the vehicle before servicing it. There is no excuse for them to return the vehicle to you in that fashion. Anyway...we have derailed Tom's thread long enough...lol
You should try the recal. I wasn't too concerned with the cold start misfire issue as I was with the trans shifting issue, and its nice now...not sure if you have the harsh 2/3 upshift though.
