Have a 99 expedition. 5.4 triton, AT, 4x4, 210k. Recently started dying while being driven. Basically after it has warmed up. Tank is full of gas. Running fine, then tach drops to zero & engine has shut down. Restarts after stopping. Will go .1 m to 1m before dying again. seems to run for a while after cooling down. Shows p1450 code. Have replaced fuel filter once. Ran fine for about a week. Then died on way home...about 30m from town.
Any suggestions? Have heard it might be related to a blocked vent tube on the tank & suggestions include leaving the gas cap off when this happens and see if that "solves" the problem.
I'm here in Southern Arizona. Current temp when this has happened 2x now is around 100. Don't think the temp is the problem as it has worked fine in this temp condition for years.
