KEY FOB NOT WORKING
Hello,
Vehicle: 1999 Expedition, Eddie Bauer, 5.4, 185k miles, running like a champ.
I purchased two new key fobs. I went to program them, but they do not work (the old one did not work either).
Want to know what experience anybody has with this. I am sure the key fobs are good, I think something else is bad....like the receiver.
Let me know what you think. Also, if I were to pick up a new receiver from the junk yard, would I have to reprogram my PATS Keys.

Did you verify that fuse #4 and fuse #8 in the CJB are good?
If you install a new RAP (Remote Anti-theft Personality) module you should first upload the software from the old module to a scan tool and then down load it from the scan tool to the replacement module.
The PATS module is used by the chipped ignition key, not the remote entry fobs.

Thanks for the response. I will checkout my fuses today and then move to the RAP that is located under the driver side dash. From my understanding this (RAP) is the item that has the door key code on top of the unit?
