Good Morning!
I have a 2000 Expedition XLT AWD/4x4 with the 4.6l V8, The exhust from the manifold back is toast. I found a 1998 Expedition XLT 4x4 with the 4.6 being parted out, and can get the manifold back for a good price.
Question is, are they the same? Tried searching for the answers and have yet to come across them. I would assume it will work, can look at them side by side till tomorrow as the guy selling the parts is an hour drive away.
If you happen to know, answers are greatly appreciated!!!
I would look up exhaust for your truck and his truck online. See if the part #s match up. I'm thinking it would work with out a problem. Exhaust is expensive new so I don't blame you going the used route. Or go to an exhaust shop and ask them to com pair what manifolds they would be able to order and fit. See if they cross as the same part . Not sure why no one got back with you earlier
The catalytic converter system might be a little bit different, even if they are different everything else should be the same. There should be no reason that it shouldn't work.
don't even think about trying to find manifolds to fit. you will be money ahead and have increased fuel mileage and power if you go with headers and flowmaster mufflers

sure long tube headers will increase the power under the curve, but be outside the cost realm for majority of people...
and as far as what the OP is asking, there should be no issue with his/her/it's intended plan other than the obvious rust issue
