Keypad entry doesn't work
I have a 2004 F-250 SD Crew Cab XLT.
The keypad on the door is factory and does not have a battery and its power comes from the computer its hardwired to.
The key pad does light up when u hit it but doesn't stay on, even when your still entering numbers in.
The problem is that it doesn't unlock the truck and its only locked the truck once (by pressing 7-8 and 9-0).
I have the correct code for it, which I found printed in big numbers on the computer under the dash.
Also, I tried reprogramming the key less entry stuff and the keypad wouldn't respond.
Anyone have a problem like this? Thanks in advanced.

Some are hardwired some are not. If yours lights up and everything you have a programming issue

Yeah, the factory ones are hardwired. Then, if the dealer installed them they should be remote.
I checked all the connections in the door and to the computer. Nothing unplugged.
I took the switch apart and realized that you have to press either side of each button. Now, I can lock the car by pressing 7 & 8 but can't unlock it with the code.
If I press numbers in it for a solid 2 min the keypad light starts to flash.
I'll search for information on programming issues when I get home tonight.
