yeah the 6er stuff wont work, its got a bunch of extra stuff to it to transfer the movement the right way.

i cant remember which one i used, i went to the yard an bought all that i could find. i think mine ended up being off a big block truck. the part down on the trans also had to be changed or maybe flipped over, i dont recall what i did there.
early eights trucks also had kick downs so grab some of those too if you cant find a dent in the yard
and if all that fails, im pretty sure you can get an aftermarket cable set up for it. i believe i saw those for sale when i was doing mine
