Need help finding thread
Some time back when I was researching diesel trucks (Fords) for a friend I came across a post that discussed which engine came in what years and which of the years for each of the engines would be the better choice and which ones to avoid. I am now wanting to buy a diesel in preparation for the purchase of a 5th wheel trailer with a shipping weight of close to 13K. All I've ever heard about the 7.3 is good stuff and I've found a couple of nice trucks with around 100K miles but I'd really prefer something a little newer so I have some of the other niceties that come with a newer truck. I've read plenty of horror stories about the 6.0 but then again it sounds like it's mostly from poor maintenance. When I look at a truck with 100k miles on it, I really don't know how well it's been maintained. Anyway, if anyone knows about the thread I'm looking for and can point me in the direction I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd also appreciate any suggestions you have on what a good reliable year/engine combination would be. It's been suggested that I look at F-350 DRW trucks. Thank you.

ummm.... all of them???
Joking aside, I think if you do a simple EGR delete any of them will work well enough provided you don't get too crazy with the boost. Try the 6.0 PSD forum here and do a search.
