weird

So I was hot cattin around tonight and something bizzare happened. Truck acted as if it was in tow haul until I got to almost 10mph then acted fine. Tow haul button was never pushed. Is this a tranny glitch of some sort?

Could you describe your symptoms more? Hot cattin around and actin' like it's in T/H 'til 10 mph doesn't tell us much. Were you spinning doughnuts? Muddin'? Racin' Ricer's??

I know when I go from fully loaded to empty it shifts a bit rough for a few starts and stops, but not sure if that helps you any -- a few times in slow tight turns around 10-15mph I've had a harsh downshift to 1st...

I was trying to get the gf and her friend to the mall. Said screw this traffic and banged a u turn. Put the pedal down and the truck started to spin and walk around. I let off for the safety of the girls (if it was just me I would have walked it down the road lol). But as soon as it caught traction again I got back into the throttle. Let off to merge into a lane at about 60 and the rpms stayed up and I was engine braking. Exactly like tow/haul. It downshifted every gear and if i gave it throttle it ran the rpms high cause the trans was holding it in gear until I got to about 10mph then the rpms dropped to an idle. Gave it throttle again except i was easy on it this time and it shifted normal as if tow/haul was never on.

Must've been a helluva sale!

I know the trans/PCM is continuously adapting to driving conditions -- maybe there's a shift strategy if it thinks the road is slippery??

Mark Kovalsky might happen on your thread and enlighten us. Main thing is it went back to normal pretty soon after, right?

There is no strategy that knows anything about slippery roads. I have no idea what happened here.

My friend seems to think maybe I mind f***ed the pcm into limp mode due to getting into it so hard and then letting off and getting right back into it. Other than that it went back to normal in less than a min. And dan there was no sale! Lmao it was a country concert ticket give away. My driving got her a pair of tickets rofl
