king pins

I'm sure this has been beat to death but I can't find the answer searching. I'm going to replace the king pins in my 1970 F250 Crew Cab 2wd. Moog shows two part numbers for the metal bushing kits, one kit has .85" dia. pins and the other kit shows .86" dia. pins. How do I know which kit I need?

Do you know if the kingpins have been re-done before?

For the dead-on answer I recommend contacting Moog's tech support desk. Moog Suspension Parts .com | Support

No, I don't. I can call them Monday. If they can't help I can carry both sets to the front end shop and take back the one that doesn't fit.

For a '70 3/4 ton you need the .850 pins.

Well, the shop removed the king pins this morning and it turns out it has F350 1.0" king pins in it. I guess it's another Crew Cab mystery or someone reamed them in the past.

Good to know that you found someone that could actually install them. I had to work at it to find a shop that could still work on the old I-beam suspension. You also learned like I did, Until the kingpin is out, you have no idea what size you will need......

I got the Crew Cab back from the shop, drives much better. It's a F250 but it took F350 king pins and center axle pivot bushing. The brake rotors are F250. I have the Marti report and it came with disc brakes so I don't think someone swapped I beams.

Strange.
