98' Navigator Hazards acting odd.
98' Navigator Hazards acting odd.
When I press the switch, the right directional light blinks rapidly. Twice as fast as the directional light would. Left one remains blank (These are the cluster lights).Hazards don't work. However, my directionals work fine. I don't think the fuse is blown... I think.... Any suggestions?... I just bought this car. If it was a relay, could I switch my 00's Expedition's relay with my Navigator's?
The reason the right blinkers rapidly changing, you have a light out in one of the followings, Corner light, Mirror light, or brake light as for the hazards im not sure but check the fuse, do you have an owner manual? As for the relay interchangeability, yes
Well... Okay, now the opposite directional light on the cluster is blinking and the previously rapid one is blank, after I took the fuse out and put it back in, and the hazards are working now... I have no idea.. It wasn't blown, by the way.

Remove the cover from the top of the steering column and inspect the connector going into the switch. Often due to the tilting of the steering column tight wire strain is placed on the latch for the connector and it breaks off. If you find this, tilt the column up to gain slack, push the connector in good, and finally use tie-wraps to hold the connector to the switch.
Here's what I did when my turn signals/hazards were all screwed up. Squirted Zep 45N down by the hazard button and work all controls. Cleared up all my problems. Also used on all my door switches and haven't had a problem since. I know a lot of people recommend WD-40 but I've had problems with it attracting dirt and eventually making things worse.
well dang i have the same exact problem, my right blinker doesnt work and i have all new bulbs and when i use the flashers the right doesnt work so i guess wd40 will do it since i had to do that when my door ajar light stayed on
