I just put on a set of KC Hi-lites and since i have the holes in my bumper no big deal,i also found a wiring harness on each side and i think there for running lights but i cant find a light switch inside the cab, according to my book it looks like the factory switch is for 4x4's only unlessthey are in series with the lowbeams but i don't show any voltage in the pigtails, any ideas ?.
TIA
I checked the fuse under the dash and everything look good but after going thru the book it mentioned a box under the hood, there wasn't a 20 amp fuse or a relay.I put in the fuse but didn't get a relay and i think i want to control the lights instead of on the light switch. The KC lights,Super Bright Long Range, is the 5x7's and have 100 watt H3 quartz bulbs 180,000 Candlepower and i have the clear lenses so i thinki really want to control them for now but later i might get the yellow lenses.
Thanks
In the '94s the fuse holder and the relay are both in the box under the hood. I just installed fog lamps and I am pretty sure the fog lamp fuse was the mini 20A in the front right corner.
Here is a pic of the panel that should be under the hood.
Now if you want to use the stock ciruitry, then you will have to put a relay in there. With the relay and fuse in, you will then get power behind the dash, but not without the relay, fuse, and the headlights on.
I have a 2WD so everything is the same to the firewall, then I had to run a fresh wire from the cab side of the firewall into my own switch.
But yeah, if you are testing out the plugs, you won't get any power without the relay and fuse in there.
Here is a pic of what the actual fog lamp connector should look like:
It should be right behind where the main light switch is. If you can find that one then you are set and just need to connect everything.
Be aware that the OEM foglights are 55watts each; you're attempting to run almost 2X that. You should determine if the gage of the existing wire is sufficient to handle it. Only if the wire gage is sufficient should you proceed to size the fuse to accomidate.

The lights say 12V 7.8 amps so both of them will be lass than the 20 amp fuse or the aftermarket switch.
bobbysranger,i'll check for the foglight fuse and thanks for the diagrams.
