Reference code "Delta"

Can anyone enlighten me on what Reference code "Delta" means on the status of Regen's? I just had the Radiator hoses replaced, Schrader valve replace on the Air Conditioning and a Coolant change, not flush, new Thermostats. I also seemed to have an issue with "stumbling" when going into regen, especially when accelerating from a stop. They indicated on my invoice that I had a Reference code "Delta" and that a "manual regeneration" was mandatory. So all work completed and manual regen was done, they also did a "fuel injector calibration"? That they covered under my ESP. It now runs better than ever. The only problem I had was after picking it up from the Ford Service dept, I drove 4 miles, and it went into REGEN. "DRIVE TO COMPLETE REGENERATION". That is the first time I have ever seen this message. I have seen "Drive to Clean Exhaust Filter". Then for 35 minutes after the above message went out, it then gave me the infamous "cleaning exhaust filter". Took it back this morning, they ran diags, drove it HARD, and indicated all was good. I just drove back home, about 20 miles and it runs like a stripped a$$ed ape...I have 3500 miles before I hit 100k. As soon as I hit that magic number, I am taking care of this regeneration crap....anyway, code "Delta" anyone?

Subscribing...I have never heard of that reference.

I think they did a buzz test on the injectors to ensure they were not an issue.

I had mine done not that long ago when I had the 11b23 patch applied.

Hey all, I just pulled 12k 500 miles. I have better fuel economy, but, I am regening every 100 miles, just like clockwork. I do not know what the manual regen did but the regens are now more often, but my fuel economy pulling has gone from 9.5 to a little over 11.
I am glad I am not the only only one that has not heard of the code "Delta". When I get back next week, I am going to ask.

I've never heard of "delta" either. It sounds like you had a loaded DPF that the manual regen cleaned and the changes you've seen in the message and regen frequency are probably from the new 11B23 firmware.

Pre 11B23 regens were 500-600mi typically, post 11B23 more like 250mi but the duration is shorter. I think they did this to try to compensate for all the people who don't monitor and thus habitually interrupt regens. Interrupted regens are also the primary cause of fuel dilution issues, not regens as a whole. If monitored and allowed to complete regens seems to cause very little fuel dilution.
