Need some help. Just pulled my trailer into my kids driveway and unloaded, then decided later to go somewhere and when I start the 6.0, she knocks, blows white smoke and won't hardly pull itself out of the driveway. It has the head studs, blue spring regulator, new oil cooler, recent cooling system flush, oil changes every 5k on the button, egr delete and mild tune (40 hp) to keep the check engine light off. Any ideas from you long time owners?
Ditto on the bad injector. Mine is down with the same problem as we speak and had the exact same symptoms. I just keep having this problem as you may notice from my thread on continued injector problems on this site. Unfortunately, there are many things that could contribute to an injector failure. Lots of good info on here and especially in the tech folder. Good luck!!
Good to hear you got her figured out, at 40 PSI if the filters are fine I would replace the fuel pump. But there is also the possibility that the fuel pick up in the tank could be plugged causing the pump to be starved of fuel. 45 PSI is the minimum spec on fuel pressure at WOT anything less is a death sentence for the fuel injectors.
The suggestions here were worth it. After they replaced two injectors and the fuel pump, we got to tracing things back to see what caused what. The filter was full of water, then I had them pull the tank and clean it. they found it very dirty with debris. The techs (and I agree with them) believe that is where it all began. Crap from the tank clogging the pickup and then the filter, then harming the pump and finally the injectors. Was a bit expensive, but it runs like a charm now and it's getting the fuel mileage it's suppose to be getting.
Thanks again for all the input. Hearing your experiences helped the hunt for causes. Also checked the batteries and FICM and they all came out fine, thankfully.
