My engine Icon comes on and reads - PO470 - which is the exhaust pressure sensor, took it to Ford to check it out - hoping it was not the EGR also, it was not. So they told me they fixed it, they said they changed the sensor changed the batteries and cleared the codes - and off I go. I only live about 10 houses from the dealer and I don't drive this truck much, so Sunday afternoon I said to my wife, I would like to put 50 miles on the truck today to see if the engine Icon is going to come back on. I go out to the truck it had 70,000 miles exactly, I said well that should be easy so I cleared the trip odometer to 00.0 - I drive to the state park and back - My trip odometer reads 56.4 but my odometer reads 70936 - thats like 880 miles different. Anyone have a clue as to what may have happened. Thank you in advance - Dave
Good morning BadFord, Yes the sensor work the icon is gone, usually after 50 miles it would come back on if there is a problem after being cleared. Yesterday I drove it & it was the same. I don't know if Ford did something when they reset my computor, or if my instrument cluster has now gone bad, but would that not also affect my trip odometer & I call those foster grants my over 40 glases
So the work was done recently?, I would take it back right away while the truck is still fresh on there record and mind, could be something in the dash or wire harness , maybe even the line to the Tranny, have you searched the tech folders ? I will Brouse around and see if i get anything
I dont know if this is relevent but check it out = In the Tech Folders
Under KW5413 thats about 3/4 down the page under Instrument Cluster ,Click on the Electrical check list and Tips bar.I'll keep lookin
Bad ford, I called them today said I'm bringing back in, but worked a 13 hour day landscaping, I am exhausted, and can do nothing tonight, I have to much paper work to do, but I will look at the tech folder in the morning, Thank you - Dave
