Trying to get my radiator out, is there a trick to get the line out that is on the bottom passenger side of the radiator. Looks like it is a nut that you unscrew, is that true? No experience with this, and don't want to mess anything up, any assistance would be appreciated. I have an 87 f350.
What size line? if it is rubber, it should be hose clamped on. If you have enough extra hose, and it is rubber, just cut it close to the radiator and take it off when you have the radiator on the bench.
the only lines that should go into the radiator are the radiator hoses (big), and the tranny cooler lines (5/16 or 3/8 rubber hose). often there will be an ell fitting and/or a short section of pipe attached to the radiator, don't worry about it, just disconnect the hose and leave the ell in place
Did the 87 have the 5/8 heater hose running to the bottom right corner for the trans fluid warmer like the 7.3 autos' did? That is the hose I thought he was talking about. If it is 5/8 and goes to a tee in your heater core line, just cut it about an inch from the radiator and pull it off later. There should be a hose clamp on it though.
