hi all, new to forum, joined today, new into the hobby....I came upon this one up for sale here locally at the moment, but I cannot seem to get this model on the F series info sites (maybe I have not found the right one yet! ), Wikipedia shows a lot of models but none similar to this one, what I could gather is that it's around 1976 model, inline six cylinder, this one is relative std, see steering wheel etc, needs lot of TLC but I am sure it could be a nice project, the price is good as well....would like comments from fellow members!
Here that's a 67-72. You aren't here though, I can tell by the right hand drive. Where are you located? I know ford and other motor companies would use one body style for different year ranges in different countries.
Looks like a 67-68 custom(base model) but idk a lot about bumpsides or the yearly grilles.
In the U.S.A. it's known as a "bump side " , 72 and older. I see it's right hand drive and i don't know what country you are in so it could be different there.
Welcome to FTE, this site is full of help full people which can give you a lot of advice and tips. By the looks of you truck being right hand drive and the number plate i take it you are from SA?
Regarding your truck its called a bump side because of the bump going along the side of the truck, dent sides have a indent... easy way to make out. Your truck would be in the 60 to 72 range where dent sides started at 73 to 79. Anybody can correct me if I am wrong but thats how I understand it.
You are not! I was also surprised to see how many South Africans are on this site. What I did find out that our SA built Fords differ quite a lot from the USA model, like the VIN and engine numbers that cant be decoded. And it is very difficult finding any info on SA trucks. But luckily parts are basically the same and USA are full of it!
Well in terms of restoration questions, tips, tricks and help. you will get all the info you need. the people on this site has plenty of experience and allways will to assist.
There are a number of places that stock and import parts for classic cars and truck around Joburg and Cape town who would also assist you with your build.
That refers to the styling que that runs along the side of the truck. In the USA 67-72 it's raised or "bumped" from the surface. The 73-79's have the styling que depressed or "dented" in.
