This is on the job I'm working on. We are doing it here in the Lehigh Valley for a company out of Texas, Hillwood Construction. 1 million sf warehouse and a few smaller buildings. Job has over 1 million yards of dirt to move for our site preparation. We rented this D 10 for 3 months, from L to R is a D 6, D 10, my D 8 and another of our D 8's. Not pictured is a hoe and truck package and a few tractor pans. We have been moving over 14k yards of dirt in our 9 hr first shift and with the 2nd shift we are doing roughly 25K yards a day. Thats a LOT of dirt folks
EDIT: For refernce, I am 5'11" and I look eye to the top of the blade on my dozer, figure roughly 5.5 feet high, and she weighs 85K lbs. That D 10 weighs 150K+ and the blade is probably 7' high at least. She's a big 'un

I was just about to chime in and say wow it looks like you are working on that big project off of I 78 near Midway/ Lebanon area (exit 12 or 16 I think ). That project looks pretty massive too. My boss and I were out at a service call about 2 months ago in Harrisburg and we remarked how massive that building is going to be. I will be driving past again for two service visits on Thursday. However I was off by about 50 miles lol
Otherwise cool job. I worked for an equipment dealership for about 6 years then the economy took the first nose dive. It was a fun job to play with the compact equipment but mismanagement took over and I was out the door.
Yes, it is! I always thought the D 8 I'm running there was a good-size dozer, but that 10 is superbadass. I wouldn't mind running it for an hour or 2 Makes that 8 look like a D 6
Thats a 365 excavator and 35 ton Volvo rock trucks in the backround, also good-sized equiptment. Got our big boy iron on this job
That is for sure. I use to work for a land surveyor and have been out on some construction sites. I thought that some of that equipment was large, but it is nothing compared to the stuff that you are working with.
Yep, using an 815 compactor with the trucks, and also running a 9520 JD tractor and Case 450 both pulling double bowls. They are rented along with the D 10. We used to have a few JD tractor pans but they went when things got slow a few years ago. Had a fleet of 627's before that but not many contractors use them around here any more, mostly hoe/truck packages. Not pictured are a new D 6T and another D 8T, 2 JD 650's. None of it is getting used much this week with all this rain, I only worked 1 day so far this week Maybe next week will be better
